LOCATION

Seymour and Jackson County, Indiana are located in south central Indiana approximately 60 miles south of Indianapolis, 50 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky and 90 miles west of Cincinnati, Ohio. Seymour-Jackson County also is within a 300 mile radius of Chicago, St. Louis, and Nashville.

Known as "The Crossroads of Southern Indiana", Seymour is located on I-65 providing north/south connections to Indianapolis, Louisville, and other major markets, and Seymour also is served by U.S. Highways 50 and 31.

The area is located such that access is easily available to three commercial airports in Indianapolis (indianapolisairport.com), Louisville (louintlairport.com), and Cincinnati (cvgairport.com). Seymour's Freeman Field Airport, with access to I-65 via U.S. 50 and Indiana 11, has two, lighted 5,500-foot runways and is used for cargo and charter service.

The county also is served by two rail systems, CSX and The Louisville & Indiana Railroad Company (LIRC). The CSX line is a major connection between Cincinnati and St. Louis while the LIRC line provides north/south connections.

Water transportation is also available through Clark Maritime Center 50 miles south via I-65 on the Ohio River.
