
EAST SIDE INDUSTRIAL PARK
The East Side Industrial Park in Seymour was developed in the mid-1980s and is located less than one mile from Interstate 65 and adjacent to the CSX Rail System. All utilities are in place and ready to be extended into new facilities at the 400-acre park.
Aisin U.S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aisin Seiki, constructed their first U.S. manufacturing facility at the
park and have expanded numerous times. Recently, Aisin
Holdings of America constructed a new office complex at the park.
Kobe Steel of Japan constructed a facility to produce powdered steel at Kobelco Metal Powder,
Mid-America Veneer opened a facility to begin a cutting operation, and
Seymour Tubing selected the park for its cold-drawn steel tube facility to produce casings for automotive applications.
Excel Manufacturing is also located at the park and specializes in
metal finishing and CNC machining, and a new Japanese company,
Seymour Wire, recently moved into one of two 40,000 square foot "spec" buildings.
UPS Logistics operates Lexmark International's customer fulfillment center in a 588,000 square foot facility, which has recently been expanded.
In 2005, JLM Pharmatech (formerly Opti-Med CR Labs, Inc.), a pharmaceutical company, moved into the park. A 105,000 sq. ft. building was recently completed and is leased by Lexmark. Construction of a new 100,000 sq. ft. building was completed in December 2005.
