FREEMAN FIELD INDUSTRIAL PARK
Seymour's oldest industrial park is the Freeman Field Airport and Industrial Park, located in the southwest quadrant of the city.
It is home to more than 20 industries, including R.R. Donnelley, Schwarz Pharma, Valeo Sylvania, Dickson's and Excel Tool, plus many other businesses.
Several industrial sites are still available at Freeman Field, as are available industrial buildings.
The park also includes Seymour's municipal airport, which features two 5,500-foot runways to handle charter and cargo flights.
The Seymour Municipal Airport Authority at Freeman Field has recently received over $700,000 in grants to begin renovation and improvements to buildings, runways, and taxiways. Also, a plan is being developed on the needs of the airport which might include a new terminal and how the airport should use its flight line space. The project at the airport is estimated at a cost of $3 million, divided into two phases, Phase I, $1.7 million and Phase II, at $1.3 million.
